Day 13: your favorite quote

Crap. I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS TAG LOL.

But uhm, I don’t have one favorite quote. Often I’ll be reading a book and come across parts I find significant, or parts I think are well-crafted, and I’ll sticky it.

For example:

From The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery (which I read for AP Lit), some of the parts I stickied were:

“People aim for the stars, and they end up like goldfish in a bowl”(23).

“Madame Michel has the elegance of the hedgehog: on the outside, she’s covered in quills, a real fortress, but my gut feeling is that on the inside, she has the same simple refinement as the hedgehog: a deceptively indolent little creature, fiercely solitary—and terrible elegant”(143).

“We never look beyond our assumptions and, what’s worse, we have given up trying to meet others; we just meet ourselves. We don’t recognize each other because other people have become our permanent mirrors”(144).

and etc. etc. By the way, I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.
